Since the appointment of Darren Jones (course superintendent), previously the assistant to the superintendent at Royal Sydney Golf Club, the St. Michael's course is consistently what most professionals, top amateurs and members agree to be a fine test of golf on a first class championship layout.
In May 2008, St. Michael's brought onboard one of Australia's most experienced General Managers, Murray Watts. Murray previously spent in excess of 17 years combined at Killara Golf Club on Sydney's upper northshore and at The Australian Golf Club (Kensington).
