Coral Tree Removal – 11 Jennifer St Little Bay, NSW
Members are probably interested in the clearing of the scrub and coral trees at 11 Jennifer Street, the vacant property at the entrance of the
St. Michael’s roadway. The clearing was approved as part of the Development Application to construct numerous 3 story apartment/townhouses, approved in the Land Environment Court in 2019.
The contractors involved were essentially going to remove the plantings on the area as part of the Clubs lease; however, they are now aware of the limitations applicable to only being permitted to remove those Coral Tree’s located within the designated portion of the subject site. They are not to touch those trees situated in the golf course site near its entry. We can confirm that the contractor from Arbor Master Tree Group is aware that survey pegs are in place, which delineates the boundary line.
The developers intend to seek approval to commence Hazard Reduction Burning within the coming weeks. The understanding that this is considered exempt development and, if approved, may be completed before issuing the Construction Certificate. We have asked the Randwick City Council compliance team to monitor the works to keep the Council, and the golf course management informed through this process.
